Joshua Carmichael Fearnley

Joshua Carmichael Fearnley founded Period Media in 2004 and today serves as Principal and Creative Director. For more than a decade, he has successfully led brand launches and revitalization campaigns inclusive of strategy, creative development, advertising, web development, public relations and events for brands both big and small. In addition, he currently oversees all client strategy for Period Media and is instrumental in establishing the vision for individual campaigns.

Joshua’s unique approach incorporates his capacity to equally prioritize business goals and creative excellence to conceive and produce highly-effective marketing and public relations campaigns. His ability to translate big-picture performance objectives into actionable marketing strategies and execute across media platforms with an attention to creative detail has proven invaluable to a wide range of emerging and established brands.

Prior to establishing Period Media, Joshua oversaw brand development for a global design conglomerate based in Los Angeles. He graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University and is an alumnus of the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and the Slade School of Art in London.

Matt Walker

Matt Walker joined Period Media as a Principal in 2009 to oversee the firm’s public relations division. In this role, Matt plans and implements highly-effective publicity campaigns, directs VIP outreach, and oversees communication for a range of individuals and brands in the fashion, beauty, design and entertainment industries.

Through his diverse experience, Matt has earned a reputation for raising the profile of brands and personalities through his acute knowledge of communication strategy and his deep relationships in the media world. Prior to joining Period Media, Matt oversaw publicity campaigns for celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Hugh Laurie, Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, and George Lopez, and worked on television and film campaigns including ‘The Mentalist,” “Ugly Betty,” “True Blood,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and “Sex and the City: The Movie.” He also worked on campaigns for fashion and beauty products, including Bitten and the Lovely perfume collection.

Matt was educated at the University of California, Irvine where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Film/Media Studies and Business. He has lived in the Los Angeles area his entire life.
